| DEMS REJECT HUSTLER'S $EX CHEX By GEOFF EARLE September 27, 2005 -- WASHINGTON — Wheelchair-bound pornographer Larry Flynt wants to help Democrats take back the Senate — but Sen. Schumer has rejected his offer. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, chaired by Schumer (D-N.Y.), recently returned a $2,500 personal check that Flynt, the publisher of the XXX-rated Hustler magazine, sent to the campaign organization. Asked about the check's return, Flynt said through his spokeswoman, "I've been a Democrat all my life, but I'm considering switching to another party." Flynt continued, "My heart is with the Democratic Party, but I'm tired of their paranoia. I am not asking them to endorse what I do. I'm just asking that they take my money and use it for their party's needs." The spokeswoman, who said Flynt was "annoyed" by the rejection, said he has been making small contributions to the Republicans for 20 years, "so that he can read their literature and keep up with their platform." The DSCC had no comment. This isn't the first time Democrats have refused Flynt's generosity. In 2002, former Housing Secretary Andrew Cuomo returned a $2,500 contribution from Flynt after the publisher organized a Los Angeles fund-raiser for Cuomo's New York gubernatorial campaign. October 3, 2005 Dear Congresswoman Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, We are writing to inform you, in case you are not already aware, that Larry Flynt recently ran an extremely explicit and abusive cartoon of the Democratic Party donkey raping a Republican woman tied to a four post bed in Hustler Magazine. The cartoon read, "BECAUSE HUSTLER READERS WANT TO SEE IT" followed by "ANN COULTER BEING ANALLY VIOLATED BY THE DEMOCRAT DONKEY." The donkey is wearing a shirt that reads "DNC". We understand that just this month the Democratic Party refused Larry Flynt's $2,500.00 donation. We also note it is not the first donation sent back to him and we thank you for that. We are now asking that the Democratic Party publicly denounce this cartoon and Hustler magazine for publishing this misogynist, sexually fascistic hate speech in the name of the Democratic Party.
